Before I was asked to help with this project, the space served as a formal dining room. This beautiful + sweet family wanted the space to work better for them on a day-to-day basis. As many can relate, they realized they used their dining room 2-3 times a year. Ya know… Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Sunday. They wanted to create a cozy and casual space that would make people feel welcome and allow them to kick back and be together as a family, aside from their designated family room.
Amanda’s style is much like mine. I like to call it the desert chic with a bit of Cali vibes. Hence, the Casual Boho Cali Sitting Room.
We worked with a specific budget and started sourcing items that would make the space cozy + livable. I love how these natural pine shelves turned out. If you’ve followed my work, you know I’m a big fan of layering art + photos in my designs. To me, this is such a fun way to add personality and style to a home. It’s a personal touch, with a designers touch. We added tons of texture by adding hanging macrame, plants (duh), textiles – cotton, leather, + yarn, layered rugs, and wicker + rattan elements. I swoon over the pillows and how they really elevate the style. The floor pouf adds a fun and playful aspect, perfect for the kids to play.
When I design a space, it’s a lot more than sourcing a few items. It is my goal to create a space that is livable and beautiful. So much heart and passion goes into each design and creating a space that allows my clients to create memories in every single day.
