Being one of the largest homes in the neighborhood, I knew the color concept was SO important in keeping with the integrity of the home. My client, who is actually self-proclaimed “color blind”, enlisted my help to choose the exterior paint colors of his home. As easy as this sounds, it’s a BIG job with A LOT of pressure. I mean, I had to be 100% on the concept and my decisions.
Mr. Mudrick hired me beyond the color concept to manage the project. I was in charge of sourcing the painting company, budgeting, colors, and check ins throughout the project, new exterior lighting + beyond. Being a designer, I was able to save him $800 on the paint job. Originally, the seller had requested to leave the accordion shutters as is – being that painting them to match the new house colors took up a substantial chunk of the budget. Because of the savings I was able to provide, we decided to have the accordions painted to match the new colors and blend into the home. I am SOOOO glad we did so. It made all the difference in creating a completely cohesive and classic home. He is ecstatic with his home which makes my heart so incredibly happy.

EXTERIOR BEFORE :
THE DESIGN CONCEPT:
Mr. Mudrick loved a certain home in the neighborhood, actually my parents home, that is a beautiful moody blue/gray with white trim and black accents. Because my clients home is two-story and so large, I did not feel it would be right to paint the entire home in a darker, moody color – especially in this particular neighborhood. I decided to stick with my MGH style that I know my clients and followers have come to love and choose the perfect creamy white for the main house color complimented with a nice chalky gray. This was the perfect way to give him a bit of that contrast he was looking for. Having just finished the roof a week before my project began, I color matched the charcoal roof tiles with a moody charcoal gray that I used for exterior doors, fascia, and garage doors. That extra pop and contrast gave us the impact and custom feel we were looking for. I put so much effort in trying dozens of colors and variations to choose the perfect trio. It was my goal to pull the grays from the roof with a hint of brown from the pavers in order to make the entire home flow with intention. I am so incredibly happy and proud of how this project turned out.
RENDERINGS:
Obviously colors are different on the computer, even using true Pantone codes etc. A rendering is a good way to display the overall look. Then, we perfect it by choosing the perfect colors and sampling on the house in different areas and lighting.

EXTERIOR AFTER:
Cheers to another #MGHColorConcept in the books. I am utterly obsessed with this before and after transformation!
